I had a couple of different oils bought for me just after diagnosis by sons convinced it could be helpful. I took none of it. Because I didn't know how it would interact with the conventional treatment I was on, because the dosage was unknown and because the ingredients were unknown.

I suggest though that the mass of anecdotal stuff was the impetus for the research that ended up with various medicinal cannabis drugs, which must surely be now classed as conventional. If you're going to prove or not that something has a clinical effect then you have to do the clinical trials and collect the data in scientific and repeatable manner.
